Hot (or cold, according to the numbers) on the heels of Rock Band 3's release comes a series of blows to developer Harmonix.
First came news that corporate overlord Viacom would unload Harmonix, citing plans to exit the gaming business altogether. Now EA, once thought to be on the shortlist to pick up the developer, has officially tossed their hat out of the ring.
And just when things were finally starting to get interesting, too. Ah well. At least they didn't make Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Or Power Gig.

"I'm sure some smart investor will buy the business feeling that they can catch a falling knife," [EA CEO John Riccitiello] said, "but more people have been cut trying to catch falling knives than have benefited from getting the timing exactly right."
