So are you snowed in? I'm snowed in. I mean, the neighbor across the street managed to leave the house, judging by the tire tracks in the driveway, but I'm sticking with working at the dining room table for now.
I used to drive in the snow all the time in Connecticut, but they also did this thing where they put sand on the roads so that, you know, you could actually drive on them. And then I was like, "You know? These months of slush pretty much suck. I'm going back to Georgia." Which is where I was, until I moved to Mississippi, until I moved here. And now, of course, both Georgia and my most recent home, Oxford, Miss., have MORE SNOW than we do in Knoxville. Or Connecticut, for that matter. So much for being further south.
But thanks to my pal Thomas Wheatley at Atlanta's alt-weekly Creative Loafing, I now know about the coolest, geekiest way some fellows in Atlanta are using their day off from work: Reenacting The Empire Strikes Back. Specifically, the snowy battle of Hoth.
Knoxville, the bar has been set. High. But I know some of y'all can top this...
