New mp3 From Senryu: "Inkling"

The brand-new national publicist for the long-running local band Senryu, who just happens to be the subject of a feature in this week's issue of Metro Pulse, has just released the band's song "Inkling," the title track from their new album, as an mp3. You can hear it here.

Senryu's having a CD release show at Pilot Light on Saturday, March 13.

Bear in Heaven are coming to Pilot Light with Cymbals Eat Guitars (named Best New Brooklyn Band of 2009 by the Village Voice) on March 10. They have a couple of new songs from their new album, Beast Rest Forth Mouth, available online.

Will Fist's Three Man Band has been added to the bill for Thursday's concert by the Whigs at the Bijou Theatre. Royal Bangs are opening. It's almost certainly the first time a Whisk-Hutzel band will play the Bijou. The collective of lo-fi projects led by Fist typically plays Pilot Light.

Andrew Clayman wrote about the Whigs the last time they came through town.

According to their blog, The Dirty Guv'nahs will be performing live for the Paste Magazine website this afternoon. No details on the time, so keep an eye on the band's Twitter updates.

Canadian "urban roots" quartet Po' Girl will host a concert and a square dance at the Square Room on Friday, Feb. 19. The jazzy folk group, which features banjo, clarinet, accordion, harmonica, and dobro in addition to a standard guitar/bass/drums set-up, will play with locals the Bearded.
