The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will feature the music of Franz Schubert in its final chamber music series concert of the 2008-2009 season on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Bijou Theatre. The concert will offer a work written by Schubert at age 18 (Symphony No. 3 in D Major) and a work written in the last year of his life (the String Quintet in C Major, aka The Two Cellos Quintet). Unfortunately for the world, there was only 13 years between the two events--Schubert died at age 31.
Also on the program is a new composition by KSO Music Director Lucas Richman, his Salutation No. 6, another work in a series that honors prominent patrons of the orchestra.
