Classical Cafe:

Happy Bastille Day, mon amie

July 14th is Bastille Day in France, the national holiday commemorating the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 -- 220 years ago.

On that date in 1789, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was in the last two years of his life and plagued by money troubles. Joseph Haydn was finishing his "Oxford" Symphony, the Symphony No. 92 in G Major...however, Knoxville was but a three year old fort built by a former Revolutionary War officer, James White and his friend, James Connor.  And we're still trying to catch up.
