Mezzo Amanda Ingram at Blount Co. Library on Thursday

Mezzo-soprano Amanda Ingram, a Maryville native, will perform this Thursday, August 20th, as part of the Blounty County Library's Hot Summer Nights concert series.  The concert will begin at 7:00pm in the Reading Rotunda at the Library.

Ingram.jpgIngram is a graduate of Maryville High School. She received her Bachelors of Music from the University of Tennessee School of Music and her Masters of Music from Yale University. She made her professional début in 2005 as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro with Chicago Opera Theater and reprised the role for Sarasota Opera in their 2005-2006 season. For the 2006-07 season,she joined Central City Opera as an apprentice, covering Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon as well as Assunta in The Saint of Bleecker Street.

Ingram's concert will include  "A Sleeping Bee" from House of Flowers by Capote and Arlen, "Amor" by William Bolcom,  "La Coccinelle" by Georges Bizet, "Adieux de l'hotesse arabe" by Georges Bizet, "Porgi, amor" from Le Nozze di Figaro,"In uomini" from Cosi Fan Tutte by Mozart, as well as "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel.

Ingram has recorded for Naxos Records: "Charles Ives: Songs, Vol. 6"
