The University of Tennessee Faculty Chamber Music Series, Music of the Ages, continues this Sunday with the second of three concerts entitled "An Age of Revolution." The concert will offer an intriguing mix of works--and yet again, the concertgoers can enjoy an intriguing puzzle of fitting the offerings to the idea of Revolution. The concert takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 15, in the James R. Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building on the UT Campus. A pre-concert reception begins at 3 p.m. Admission is free.


The concert will open with two movements from the Piano Trio in E minor, op. 67, by Dmitri Shostakovich. The trio consists of Miroslav Hristov, violin; Wesley Baldwin, cello; and Patricia Carter-Zagorski, piano.
Jumping back to the 18th century, the concert continues with the Quartet in d minor, Tafelmusik II, TWV 43:d by Georg Philipp Telemann. The performers will be Shelley Binder, flute; Phylis Secrist, oboe; Keith McClelland, bassoon; and John Brock, harpsichord.
The concert travels back to the 20th century for Quartet for the End of Time by Olivier Messiaen. The quartet: Gary Sperl, clarinet; Miroslav Hristov, violin; Wesley Baldwin, cello; and David Northington, piano.
