Composer Jennifer Higdon, who grew up in Blount County, won a Grammy for Best Classical Contemporary Composition at last Sunday night's awards ceremony. The award was for her Percussion Concerto on a recording of Marin Alsop leading the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
