There will be a lot to love on Valentine's Day courtesy of the University of Tennessee Symphony Orchestra. Their evening concert on Sunday, February 14, is titled "Orchestral Romance"-- and you may want to be more than just friends.
Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2 will be conducted by Rachel Grubb, a graduating Senior in Orchestral Conducting and Violin Performance. Ms. Grubb is also music director/conductor of the Oak Ridge Youth Symphony Orchestra and a violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

Mozart's Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra will feature School of Music Faculty clarinetist Gary Sperl performing the work on a rare Extended-range Basset Clarinet. Director of Orchestras James Fellenbaum will conduct the Mozart and Verdi's Overture to La Forza del Destino.
The concert is in the James R. Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building on the UT Campus at 8 p.m. Free. Look for my preview of the concert in this week's Metro Pulse. Click here for more information.
