KSO This Week: Three 20th Century Works

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra concentrates on the 20th Century in this week's Masterworks concerts on Thursday and Friday evenings at the Tennessee Theater. This intriguing collection of works are:

  • Rachmaninoff: Vocalise (1912)
  • Shostakovich: Symphony No. 1 (1925)
  • Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 3 (1909) with guest pianist Adam Golka 

22 year-old Golka has had a busy month. Golka's Knoxville performance of the "Rach 3" comes but two weeks after his performance of same with the New York Youth Symphony under Ryan McAdams at Carnegie Hall.
 
Maestro Lucas Richman conducts. Thursday and Friday at 8 pm at the Tennessee Theater.
