Miscellany: Beyond the Weekend

The BigEars Festival winds down on Sunday leaving us with a lot of buzz and wholesome chatter on the good, the bad, and the ugly. After all, that's what a festival is for.

Afterwards, the early part of the week has a couple of events to think about. On Monday evening, the brand new Clayton Center for the Arts in Maryville continues its opening week with a concert by two Maryville College alumni who have had major professional careers: tenor John Wesley Wright and mezzo-soprano Delores Ziegler. Their concert is at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Clayton Center. Click here for more information.

On Tuesday evening, violist Hillary Herndon and pianist Wei-Chun Bernadette Lo will offer a Faculty/Guest Artist recital courtesy of the UT School of Music. Their recital will offer works by Marcelle Soulage, Franz Schubert, Lillian Fuchs, and Johannes Brahms. The recital will be in Performance Hall 32 of the Alumni Memorial Building on the UT Campus at 8 p.m. The recital is free.
