UT Symphony: "Concertos and Classics"-update

"Concertos and Classics" is the UT Symphony Orchestra's annual concert featuring the winners of the UT School of Music Concerto Competition. This free concert takes place next Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Cox Auditorium on the UT Campus.

Maestro James Fellenbaum will open the program with Beethoven's Egmont Overture. Following the overture, the winners of the Concerto Competition will be featured in a performance of their entry work. The winners are:
Countertenor Lyndon England in an aria from Handel's Giulio Cesare
Violinist Tiago Ellwanger will perform the 1st Movement of the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 2
Flutist Micah Layne will play Howard Hanson's Serenade
Oboist Bonnie Farr and Violinist Rachel Grubb will perform two movements from J.S. Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin, BWV 1060
Pianist Lin Tian will perform the 1st Movement of the Schumann Piano Concerto
