This week's Knoxville Symphony Orchestra concerts features two works...and what works they are. The concert opens with Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D Minor, op. 120 and concludes with the sublime Mozart Requiem, K. 626.
The soloists in the Requiem will be Jennifer Barnett, soprano; Lorraine DiSimone, mezzo-soprano; Andrew Skoog, tenor; and Andrew Wentzel, bass. The KSO is joined for the Requiem by the Knoxville Choral Society, Eric Thorson, artistic director. On the podium will be Maestro Lucas Richman.
The concerts are Thursday and Friday, April 15 and 16, 8:00 p.m., in the Tennessee Theatre, 604 S. Gay Street.
