Summer approaches...and with it, many musicians scatter to the far corners of the globe for summer gigs.

Lorraine DiSimone, assistant professor of voice at the University of Tennessee School of Music, will be teaching in July in Vietri sul Mare at the Amalfi Coast Summer Festival. In August while in Italy, she will premiere a work by Brendan McConville (Assistant Professor of Theory/Composition at UT), entitled "La Pioggia nel Pineto" at Villa Communale, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy. The work is for mezzo-soprano, piano, and mixed percussion, and was commissioned by the Associazione Musica e Cultura di Roseto to celebrate the poetry of Gabriele D'Annunzio.
