Classical Cafe:

KSO Thurs & Fri: Gaga for Gershwin?

Classical Cafe is back and open for business, now fully re-stocked with a pantry full of entertaining, but probably hopelessly obscure, musical metaphors to add a bit of spice to the classical music scene. Jumping right in--

George Gershwin is one of those really intriguing composers who has the respect of both the traditional music world and the world of music theatre. Gershwin is the focus of the October Masterworks concerts of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra at the Tennessee Theatre this week. Lucas Richman conducts.

On the bill-
Gershwin: Cuban Overture
Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue with guest pianist Norman Krieger
Robert Russell Bennett's concert version of Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess

Concerts are Thursday and Friday evenings at 8:00 pm in the Tennessee Theatre
