"Beyond Baroque" -- Oak Ridge Symphony on Saturday

Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria is one of those works for chorus and orchestra that becomes a favorite after only one hearing. And, it is that work that is the centerpiece of Beyond Baroque, the second concert of the season for the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra this Saturday evening, November 6th. Joining them for the Gloria is the Oak Ridge Chorus.

Music director Dan Allcott has created an intriguing program by including another Baroque work, the "Sinfonia" from Heinrich Biber's Battalia and two 20th Century works with ties to the past, Fratres by Arvo Pärt and Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3 by Ottorino Respighi.

The Saturday concert takes place at First United Methodist Church, Oak Ridge at 8 pm. For information and tickets, check out their website.
