Lucas Richman Extends Contract With KSO

Thumbnail image for Lucas Richman Casual72.jpgWith a Grammy Award win, music directorships with two orchestras, an active composing and arranging career, and conducting work in the motion picture industry, one just had to wonder about the future of Lucas Richman and his tenure in Knoxville. One part of that has been settled, thank goodness. Knoxville music listeners can rest easy for the time being.

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra has announced that Richman's contract with the orchestra has been extended through the 2013-2014 season.

In a press release, the KSO board president Timothy W. Williams offered this statement:

"Lucas Richman has served as the Music Director of the KSO for eight years now and continues to take the KSO to new artistic heights. His passion for music education and love for the symphonic art form is easy to see--making him a much loved figure in our community and with our audiences.  We are excited about our continuing partnership with Lucas and anticipate another exciting three years under his leadership."
