Kirk Trevor Returns to KSO as Guest Conductor

Kirk Trevor, the conductor and music director of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra from 1985 to 2003, returns next week as guest conductor in the orchestra's Masterworks Series. And, he brings with him his daughter, violinist Chloe Trevor, as guest soloist. The concerts are on Thursday and Friday evenings, March 24 and 25, 8 p.m. at the Tennessee Theatre in Downtown Knoxville.

On the KSO's bill for the concerts will be:
Bax: Overture to Adventure (1936)
Beethoven: Violin Concerto (with violinist Chloe Trevor)
Prokofiev: Symphony No. 5

Since leaving the conductorship of the KSO, Trevor has continued as Music Director of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and the Missouri Symphony. Since 2006, he has recorded for Naxos Records, having released nine new albums into the Naxos catalog.
