Wednesday: Cellist Dave Eggar at Preservation Pub

Cellist Dave Eggar doesn't like the term "crossover artist." However, he is happy to "cross through" multiple genres of music on the way to achieving a really distinct sound.

Eggar will be performing in Knoxville this Wednesday, April 20th, at Preservation Pub at 6 pm with his band Deoro. Their sound is a synthesis of classical music, jazz, and reggae.

Eggar's most recent CD, Kingston Morning, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Instrumental Arrangement category. When one learns that the album was recorded in Brooklyn NY, Kingston Jamaica, and Big Stone Gap Virginia and features Ralph Stanley--further description is hardly necessary.

Eggar is a graduate of Harvard and holds a Doctors of Cello Performance from the Juilliard School.
