It is a long three months till the start of the fall music season. But if you are already starting to wonder how you'll make through the summer of practically no local music (ahem), here is the first of the suggestions on what to do and think about as the summer heats up.

October 28-30: Verdi's La Traviata. Joyce El-Khoury stars as Violetta and Zach Borichevsky sings Alfredo.
February 10-12: Gounod's Romeo & Juliette with Zulimar Lopéz-Hernández and Noah Stewart as the star-crossed lovers.
April 27-29: Verdi's Otello. Michael Austin as Otello and Kassandra Dimopoulou as Desdemona.

The Metropolitan Opera HD series will be presenting a number of encore performances this summer in movie theaters. The performances which include Madama Butterfly, Tosca, and Don Pasquale, run weekly on Wednesday's from June 17 to July 27 with the exception of July 6.
