Bass Kevin Burdette Draws More Acclaim from NYT

That hasn't stopped music writers from searching for other adjectives to describe him. I even suggested in my review of Knoxville Opera's The Barber of Seville from April 2010 that he possibly possessed "comedic gravity."

Anthony Tommasini, the music critic for the New York Times, seems to agree as well. In his recent review of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ, he offered: "The pace and energy of the performance picked up when the bass Kevin Burdette arrived..."
