Ascension's Friends of Music and the Arts

Knoxville's Church of the Ascension opens its Friends of Music and the Arts (FOMA) series on Monday evening, October 3, with a program entitled "Music for Organ and Orchestra."

The church's newly refurbished Wilhelm organ will be featured in a program of two French concertos for organ and strings: 

•   Francis Poulenc's Concerto in G minor for Organ, Strings, and Timpani
•   Pierre Petit's Concertino for Organ, Strings, and Percussion. 

The organists will be John Brock and James Garvey.

The concert time is 7:30 p.m. Church of the Ascension is at 800 Northshore Drive between Kingston Pike and Lyons View Pike.
