Sunday: KSO's Family Concert

Many Knoxvillians are amazed to learn that the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra's Masterworks, Chamber Music series, and Pops concerts are just the tip of a rather large musical iceberg. Education and community outreach programs number in the hundreds each year, making the KSO one of the more successful organizations in filling in the gaps where public education and awareness have been brutally cut.

This Sunday afternoon (October 9) at 2:30 p.m., the KSO offers its first family concert of the year, "Music, Music Everywhere" at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. KSO music director Lucas Richman conducts joined by Katy Wolfe Zahn, soprano, and the Sound Company Children's Choir.

From the KSO website:

"You'll hear selections from Gershwin's An American in Paris and an amazing thunderstorm by Beethoven, then sing along with the ever-popular "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." And together we'll sing the KSO Family Concerts theme song, "Music Can Make Your Life Complete."  Picardy's Playground opens for this show at 1:15 PM and is FREE for ticketholders!  This concert is geared toward children ages 3-8, but is perfect for the entire family!"

For ticket information, consult the KSO website.
