One of the major educational aspects of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is its Youth Orchestra program. Consisting of five orchestras covering all age groups and skill levels, the program offers several concerts throughout the year. Their free spring concert takes place on Monday, May 7, at 7:00 pm, at downtown's Tennessee Theatre.
This concert will feature performances from all five orchestras in the Association: the Preludium, led by Erin Archer; the Philharmonia, led by Katie Hutchinson; the Sinfonia, led by Association General Manager Kathy Hart-Reilly; the Youth Chamber Orchestra, led by Wesley Baldwin; and the Youth Orchestra, led by Music Director James Fallenbaum. The Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Association is currently celebrating its 38th season.
Word to the wise: these concerts are very popular. Arrive early for a seat.
