University of Tennessee School of Music alumnus Jeremy Wilson, most recently a trombonist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, has returned to the states to take a teaching position with the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University.
Wilson is a native of McMinnville, Tenn. and attended the UTK School of Music, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in 2005 studying under Don Hough.
In February of 2011, Wilson made a return guest appearance with the UT Symphony Orchestra in Launy Grøndahl's Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra that I reviewed in Classical Journal. The performance was also one of my "Best of ..." picks for 2011.
You can read more about Wilson, his new position, and some of Blair's other recent hires in ArtsNash.com (a good place to get reviews of fine arts events in Nashville).
