Bacon and Loseke Win KSO Violin Positions

Violinists Ruth Bacon and Rachel Loseke have won core violin positions in recent auditions with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

Core Section Violin is a full-time position over the 35-week season from September through May. These positions involve not only the regular performances with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra, but also string ensemble performances scheduled throughout the season for education and community partnership programming.

Ruth Bacon, a New Mexico native, received her Bachelor of Music from the University of New Mexico in vocal performance and string pedagogy and completed her Master of Music degree in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She held a one-year KSO violin position during the 2011-12 season.



loseke.jpgRachel Loseke, a native of South Dakota, took her Bachelors of Music in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has been residing in San Diego, CA, and has been a member of Orchestra Nova there, as well as a sub for the San Diego Symphony.
