Saturday: Viola Celebration Faculty Concert at UT

The 6th Annual UT Viola Celebration--a weekend of master classes, demonstrations, seminars, classes, and recitals--is this Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30, on the UT Campus. 

Those who are just avid music listeners have two opportunities to share in the experience. The Viola Celebration Faculty Concert is on Saturday evening (8 pm in the James R. Cox Auditorium, FREE) and features the guest violists George Taylor, Miranda Sielaff, Dominic DiStefano, Rudolf Haken, and Christine Rutledge performing with UT viola faculty member Hillary Herndon and pianist Bernadette Lo.

That concert features:
•  Johann Sebastian Bach: Partita #1, BWV 1002, Christine Rutledge, baroque viola
•  Robert Schumann: Märchenbilder, Op. 113, Rudolf Haken, viola, and Wei-Chun Bernadette Lo, piano
•  Alexander E. Miller: Scrim for solo viola; Dominic DeStefano, viola
•  Ralph Vaughan WilliamsRomance, Hillary Herndon, viola and Wei-Chun Bernadette Lo, piano 
•  Caroline MalloneeLullaby and Crossings, Miranda Sielaff, viola
•  Carl Maria Von Weber: Andante & Rondo Ungarese, George Taylor, viola; Wei-Chun Bernadette Lo, piano 
•  Chris Lowry: Romanza for Four Violas, Op. 15, (World Premiere) George Taylor, Rudolf Haken, Andrea Houde and Dominic DeStefano
