Classical Cafe:

Sunday: Baroque at the Bijou

Last season, one of the most popular concerts on the KSO's schedule was a program of music of Baroque composers in the Sunday Chamber Classics Series. Well, Baroque is back at the Bijou this season under the baton of Maestro James Fellenbaum--and some of the works will be instantly recognizable.

The first half of the concert is devoted to J.S. Bach and two works, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 and the Violin Concerto No. 2 (BWV 1046). Concertmaster Gabriel Lefkowitz will be the violin soloist.

The second half of the concert is devoted to Handel: the Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 2, followed by the Music for the Royal Fireworks.

The concert is Sunday, March 3, at 2:30 pm at the Bijou Theatre, Tickets: 865-291-3310 or www.knoxvillesymphony.com. Tickets are also usually available at the door, but I'd get there a bit early to avoid disappointment.
