KSO on the Fourth: Fun, Festivities, Fireworks

For the 29th year, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will present an Independence Day Concert on Thursday, July 4th, that's now part of the City of Knoxville's free Festival on the Fourth festivities in World's Fair Park. The concert begins at 8 pm and is timed to mesh with the City's fireworks display at 9:30-ish. Lucas Richman conducts.

This Thursday's concert of patriotic tunes, show/movie music, and light classical will feature soprano Jennifer Barnett. Barnett, who, in addition to being the Director of Education & Community Partnerships for the KSO, is also an in-demand soloist in regional and national performances--most recently in a memorable soprano solo performance in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Symphony of the Mountains in Kingsport.

The other entertainments in World's Fair Park begin at 4 pm. Information (including parking info) is available on the City of Knoxville's website.
