Fri-Sun: MCO's 'The Gift of the Magi'

Marble City Opera, one of Knoxville's newest music organizations, is layering up Knoxville's music scene this weekend with a production of David Conte's chamber opera, The Gift of the Magi, in the backroom space of Remedy Coffee on Jackson Avenue. The opera, premiered in 2000, is based on the classic short story by O. Henry.

The four person cast includes Kathryn Frady Marvel, Scott Beasley, Brandon Gibson, and Sarah Fitch, with the voices of the Magi sung by Ryan Olson, Zeke Varajon, and Breyon Ewing. Direction is by Corrine Hayes with Rachel Grubb conducting the 14 piece instrumental ensemble.

Friday evening at 7:30 p.m
Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.

$15 at the door.
