Tues. Noon: Free KSO 'Q-Series' at the Emporium

The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is offering a great way to spend your lunch hour this Tuesday downtown. The two KSO small ensembles, the Principal Quartet and the Woodwind Quintet, will offer a free Noon performance at the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture, 100 S Gay Street.

The Principal Quartet will perform String Quartet No. 1 (revised from the SuĂ­te graciosa (1946) by Villa-Lobos. The Woodwind Quintet will perform a Shostakovich Polka from the "Golden Age," Henri Tomasi's Cinq Dances and Justinian Tamusuza's "Abaafa Luli." 

The Principal Quartet members are: Gordon Tsai and Edward Pulgar, violins; Kathryn Gawne, viola, and Andy Bryenton, cello

The Woodwind Quintet members are: Ebonee Thomas, flute; Phylis Secrist, oboe; Gary Sperl, clarinet; Aaron Apaza, bassoon and Jeffery Whaley, horn.
