Sunday: Marble City Opera-"Opera, Food, and Wine"

Marble City Opera, Knoxville's chamber opera company, sets the table for a different evening of entertainment this Sunday, April 27. It's called "Opera, Food, and Wine" and is billing itself as "an exciting evening of appetizers, wine, and a taste of opera." Look for it at the Northshore Brasserie, 9430 Northshore Drive, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50.

The music side of the evening comes in two courses--First, soprano, Noelle Harb will sing Leonard Bernstein's La Bonne Cuisine. Following is a 20 minute comic opera, Bon appetit, sung and performed by mezzo-soprano, Martha Prewitt, portraying Julia Child baking a chocolate cake--music by Lee Hoiby and libretto by Julia Child herself.

Tickets: or purchase at the door.
