Fearless Foodie:

Bacon Chocolate Chip Baked Goods at a store near you

I cannot reveal the name of the trend-setting baker behind them, but rumor has it that Bacon Chocolate Chip cookies are in the offing at Old City Java, today at least, and also at Moondollars Cafe and Bistro in Oak Ridge. The baker got a little nervous "candying" the bacon with brown sugar, but says the salt-smoke undertones still give the sugar--and the chocolate--a nice lift, with neither flavor being overpowered.

Kelly Ayers at Moondollars says just one brave soul has sampled a BCC so far, but anticipates a rush for the treats at the Farmers' Market breakfast she'll preside over (in OR) Saturday morning. Stay tuned--once I get hold of one of the little scutters, I'll either warn you away (unlikely, as salt/chocolate is a heavenly match where I'm concerned) or see if I canĀ  wrangle a recipe for the rest of us.
