Maybe it's one of those "never a hero in your own hometown" things, but I only learned of Cruze Farm buttermilk and its Knoxville creators being featured in the April 25 New York Times magazine upon browsing the Market Square Farmers Market blog to see how it went on opening Saturday, May 2. It linked to the Cruze Farm blog, which in turn linked to the NYT piece. Our dairy folks acquitted themselves quite nicely (the scene in the piece was actually drawn from the Southern Foodways Alliance conference in Oxford, Miss. this past October, not the Big Apple), adroitly working in that buttermilk is both a Viagra competitor and good for hangovers. In case you don't care about either of those applicationst, here's the real helpful information I (hmph!) had to read first in a big-city newspaper: the recipe for Cruze Farm Buttermilk Poundcake.
