Fearless Foodie:

Beardsley Farm Still Benefits at Earth Fare

The hoopla has died down just a little since the grand opening of  Earth Fare's Bearden satellite Wednesday June 17, but our old friends Beardsley Community Farm will be receiving 5 percent of sales through the end of June 19.  Farm manager Ben Epperson will be on hand a lot of the time, too--if you see him, ask who his star community farmer is. Hint: he will not say me. I do have acorn squash, lima beans, yellow wax beans, swiss chard, and yellow pear tomatoes thriving on my and daughter Frances' plot, but we really gotta weed and plant the second half ere June ends. Who knew lamb's quarters could get so tall? Who, for that matter, knew what lamb's quarters were?
