Fearless Foodie:

Yuengling is 5th-generation brewery! I stand corrected

Hoo boy. Did I just say, "Beer picks are fun" in yesterday's entry? They'd be even more fun if I hadn't messed up on Yuengling in the article "What Your Beer Says About You." Amazingly, not the spelling, but that it's produced by Anhueser Busch. Not true! It's actually from an outfit that's family-owned for five generations and that dates back 180 years. That's been corrected on the web article, but read this too, if you would, just to help me get clear with the Yuengling and Eagle Distributing folks. In the article it stated that the Brewery's Flagship beer, Traditional Lager, is produced by Anheuser-Busch. That is completely and totally incorrect. DG Yuengling and sons is a family owned and operated brewery dating back 180 years and five generations. It is currently run by Dick Yuengling and his three daughters. Please print a retraction to this article to correct the misinformation. The only affiliation that Yuengling has with Anheuser-Busch is that they use their distribution network of wholesalers in TN. The local distributor, Eagle Distributing, is also a locally owned private business. Along with AB and Yuengling, Eagle distributes many other beer brands as well. Thank you for your time Jeremy W Walker Craft Beer Brand manager Eagle Distributing Company
