Fearless Foodie:

Beardsley Farm Soups it Up at SnowDay

A very worthy fundraiser for Beardsley Farm is Snoway, Jan. 15 at Barley's in the Old City beginning at 7 p.m. And where else can you get all you can eat soup and bread for three bucks? Even more allure: a soup contest between some very worthy foes... but only one can take home the Gourd award.

Here are the contestants:

Crown & Goose, our Gourd Award Soup Contest winner from 2009 and Knoxville's first authentic London gastropub.
Tomato Head, serving the Knoxville area since the early 90s and has recently expanded to the Maryville area--the freshest of ingredients with many vegetarian options.
Bistro at the Bijou is located in one of the most historic buildings in downtown Knoxville and serving Southern French fusion.
Veg O Rama is Knoxville's full service vegetarian restaurant specializing in homemade veggie burgers, chili dogs and tofu reubens.
Sangrias in Market Square is a tapas bar that offers customers several flavorful dishes to share in Spanish style cuisine.
Coolato Gelato has Italian style gelatos, paninis and espressos.
Cafe 4 located in Market Square describes their cuisine as " 'comfort' food with a 'global' flair."

And here's the scoop on Snow Day:

Join us at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria on January 15th at 7 p.m. for our 2nd Annual SnowDay. Several local musicians will be playing.
