AP: Palin's Private Emails Must be Preserved

In which I go for DETAILS this time
The Associated Press reports that Anchorage Superior Court Judge Craig Stowers has ordered that Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska's private email accounts - including but not limited to that same account allegedly quote-unquote hacked by UTK Economics student David Kernell - must be preserved, along with private accounts used by her staff.

Pursuant to a lawsuit levied against Palin by an Alaskan citizen, Stowers has ordered Alaska's Attorney General to instruct Yahoo and other relevant email providers to preserve any emails sent to or received by these accounts, and to "resurrect" (read: restore from archive) any emails lost due to account deactivation.

It remains to be seen if Palin's bad week in ethics will in any way effect Kernell's pending trial (or related trials in the court of public opinion), but I expect to see a lot of "ends justifying the means" arguments over the next few days.
