CONSUMER WATCHDOG EDITION
Thinking about picking up a new LCD monitor for Uncle Larry the Die-hard CRT Enthusiast this year?

If so, watch your ass.  The DoJ's antitrust watchdogs came down hard on three major players in the LCD game today, fining them a total of $585 million.

Big LCD's price-fixing scheme didn't stop at their own branded monitors, though.  Products ranging from third-party monitors to screens for mp3 players and cell phones were all effected.

It's unknown at this point how (if at all) this will effect the price of anything featuring an LCD screen.  I'm doubtful, but in the meantime, I advise consumers to send a message by doing a little research and making purchasing decisions accordingly.
