The Daily Pulse:

Grits-N-Gravy Film Fest

Keith McDaniel, the director of the annual Secret City Film Festival in Oak Ridge, is kicking off a new festival this weekend: the Grits-N-Gravy Southern Film Festival.

Whereas the Secret City Festival featured some 60 works from around the world, Grits-N-Gravy is a smaller affair focusing on short films from (you guessed it) Southern filmmakers. In addition to the 18 shorts (screened on Sunday, March 22, 2-7 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Playhouse in Jackson Square), the festival will also offer a few sneak previews of That Evening Sun, a feature film shot locally last year and starring Hal Holbrook. Executive Producer Larsen Jay will be there for a Q&A.

Head over to the official festival site for the complete schedule.
