The National Organization for Marriage, or NOM, is a group of married people who feel "threatened" by the fearsome specter of other people, um ... getting married? Well, if they happen to be the same sex. Threatened and scared, clutching their precious little NOMlings to their collective chest, trying desperately to protect their broods from the pernicious evils of tolerance, understanding, and acceptance.
So, like everyone else, they have a Twitter now (NOMTweets). And a blog (NOMBlog). And an end-times evoking series of commercials (NOMAds).
My question is why did these people choose NOM, the internationally recognized noise of hasty food-gobbling, as their acronym?
