The Daily Pulse:

ACLU Makes Good on LGBT Lawsuit Threat

The American Civil Liberties Union warned Knox County schools twice that a lawsuit would be the consequence if gay education websites continued to be censored at local schools. KCS didn't stop; the ACLU followed through Tuesday May 19 with a lawsuit filed in federal court.Though Central High senior Andrew Emitt was the first student to bring the situation to the ACLU's attention, he will not participate in the lawsuit, presumably because he graduated this past week. Karyn Storts-Brinks, librarian and Gay Straight Alliance faculty sponsor at Fulton High School, however, is one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. She's joined by two Nashville students and Bryanna Shelton, a rising sophomore at Fulton, who speaks along with her mother about the issue on this video from the ACLU. Here is a sample of the websites that are filtered by software used by KCS--or not.
