The Titanic Rises Again (in Pigeon Forge)

Despite the country's economic downturn, I suppose it's still a safe bet to build oddball tourist attractions in Pigeon Forge, but.... but.... the Titanic? Believe it:

According to the new attraction's website at titanicpigeonforge.com:

"There are some fine traveling Titanic exhibits on tour, but Titanic Pigeon Forge will be a permanent three-deck structure built firmly on Tennessee soil. Shaped like Titanic herself, it will comfortably hold 20 galleries to display hundreds of authentic, priceless Titanic artifacts that were either carried from the ship and into lifeboats by passengers and crew, or were found afloat soon after the sinking and quickly salvaged by rescue boats."

Apparently, there's already one in Branson, Mo. that's very successful. (How many Titanic artifacts are there to go around, really?)

Little did the doomed passengers of the Titanic know that nearly 100 years later, they would have their cruise experience recreated in the mountains of Tennessee...
