Remember the Brown Dog Foundation? They're the ones benefitting from veterinarian Lisa Chassy's upcoming marathon run. Brown Dog helps families in tough times pay for their pets' medical expenses, and now local tenderheart Shannon Ernest is aiming to help the foundation with a fundraiser on First Friday. Ernest was last spotted by Metro Pulse assisting with the clean-up for Fort Kid, and she really puts an all-out effort into her causes, currently volunteering as a veterinary assistant at Young Williams Animal Center. Also involved is sculptor and Knoxville's most cash-poor philanthropist Preston Farabow, Guests are asked to bring a potluck dish if they feel like it. Here's the skinny on the event:

Brown Dog Foundation raises funds for veterinary care for animals whose owners have been met with financial hardship. Featured artist Rachel Travis, bands later: "Rubber Cushions" and "Shake it Like a Caveman." Auction items include pet care stuff, art, food, and probably a box of moonpies. or a foot massage.
