The Daily Pulse:

Dollywood No Longer Favored by God

The News Sentinel reported today that Dollywood's attendance is down 5 percent and that rains have impacted 40 percent of the days the theme park's been open this season. What "impacted" means (and it's used twice) is anybody's guess.

But the one-source article/advertisement, rife with promotions for the upcoming Christmas season, goes on to say the real concern is for Dollywood's Splash Country, where the persistent rains and cooler temperatures this summer have really put a dent in business. I may be wrong, but I thought this is precisely the kind of splash-themed park the stimulus package was designed to aid.

And normally I'd say it's obvious that God has become a Six Flags over Atlanta deity, what with that sweet Batman roller coaster. But that park pretty much got clobbered by the rains, too.

What gives?
