The Knoxville Museum of Art just announced the acquisition of a print of "Dawn, Autumn Forest, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee," one of only four published photos from Ansel Adams' trip to the Great Smoky Mountains in 1948. Adams famously noted that the park was difficult to shoot: "The Smokeys are OK in their way, but they are going to be devilish hard to photograph," he once wrote.
