The Daily Pulse:

Donate to Knoxville's Red Cross for Haiti Relief

Frank here. Yesterday I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Hubert Smith Radio Show on WUTK. It was a lot of fun, and I plan to go back in a couple weeks, so be sure to tune in Sunday mornings at 10 am to 12 pm.

More to the point, one of the call-in guests also on the show was Boyd Romines, executive director of the Knoxville American Red Cross, one of many non-profit organizations working to provide relief to Haiti.

Romines said the best thing Knoxvillians can do for Haiti is to go to knoxarc.org and donate money to buy food, water, clothing and medical supplies for the people of Haiti. If you're interested in doing more, he said to contact the Knoxville chapter to learn about becoming a trained volunteer, working around the area and, down the road, abroad in places like Haiti.

Also, the AP is reporting today that former Senator Bill Frist has arrived in Port au Prince on a medical mission. Frist was a heart-lung surgeon before becoming a lawmaker.
