According to his tweets and Facebook page, looks like Knoxville's fascinating radio funny man Spanky Brown is off the air for the moment. His status update Monday (Jan. 18) at 5:30 p.m.:
He and fellow Spanky Brown Morning Show creators David "Shinebox" Thompson and Mark Atnip, voice of the Ice Bears, are still broadcasting "Best of" shows on U Stream, including their Fri. Jan. 15 funeral service for the Lane Kiffin era.
"The Spanky Brown Morning Show has been pulled from ESPN 1180 ... we're looking for a new home so hang in ... we're coming back"
Not sure how long it will be when/if the guys find a new radio home... and it's really too bad that they got pulled right while the Lane Kiffin/Derek Dooley story unfolding here at home was drawing national attention--and national sydication is what the trio are aiming for.
Spanky's bound to check in, so we'll let you know how his search for new digs is going. For sure it's a lie that he followed the Kiffins to L.A., as one of his Facebook fans suggested.
