The Daily Pulse:

A Boot in the Fed is the Tennessee Way

Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor, debuted his first campaign ad today. The spot, which the campaign plans to spend $120,000 running, ends with Ramsey saying he plans to run the state the "Tennessee way," adding that "if those guys in Washington don't like it, well, we'll just give 'em the boot." This last line is delivered with a perfunctory "Aw, heck, you don't wanna mess with me, chief" grin.

So in other words, if the state decides to violate federal laws, i.e. doing something "those guys in Washington don't like," we'll secede, lieutenant governor? Is that what you mean?

Or are you just making a meaningless, semi-veiled threat to an imagined enemy to drum up fringe right-wing support, a la Rick Perry in Texas?
