Stacey Campfield's so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill is dead again, this time for good--or at least, for this year. This despite support from fellow Knox Rep. Bill Dunn, who Tom Humphrey reports is gravely concerned that there "may be teachers who believe it is their 'mission in life' to promote 'tolerance or acceptance or whatever' of homosexuality." He may have a point: What if a second-grader with a gay parent somehow gets the idea from a teacher that there is not anything deeply, disgustingly, Biblically wrong with Mom or Dad? It's a risk Tennessee will now have to take.
